The latest GeoVision Software Update (Version 8.5.6) offers a number of new features including Video Skype Utility and Advanced Video Analytic features not previously included with older GV software versions. Have a look at some of the new features included in this software release:

Sentry RP-IP831IR-VP-VF-2MP - New PoE Power Option
We've recently added PoE (Power over Ethernet) as a power option to the Sentry RP-IP831IR-VP-VF-2MP, making for a much easier installation as you can now power and receive video over one Cat5 cable rather than having to run the network cable and power separately.

Record Even More / New Compact DVR and NVR Case
We are pleased to announce that improvements to our system's architecture have led to an increase in the maximum amount of megapixels both the i7Pro and i7Max are capable of recording. Sentry i7Pro NVR systems can now record up to 60MP (from 41.6MP) and i7Max NVR systems can record up to 75MP (from 61.4MP).
In addition to the increased Megapixel Recording Capacity of our NVR systems, we have also replaced the Compact DVR/NVR case with a newer model. This new compact case features:
- Front DVD Cover: Provides a better resistance against dust and debris.
- Unlabeled Case: Dealers are able to customize the systems with their own information, stickers, etc...
- Neutral Colors: Makes the system look less like a retail PC and more like a commercial video surveillance product.

The RP-IP5304IR-2MP features 4 High Power IR LEDs and a 5-15mm varifocal lens. The larger, but fewer IR LEDs provide a more consistent IR coverage at longer distances while the varifocal lens will allow dealers to customize the field of view to better suit a wider variety of applications (ie. a wider field of view for parking lots and warehouses or a more direct view for doorways and loading docks).

The Sentry Recording Server can record video from up to 128 channels of IP video and at a faster frame rate when compared with a similar NVR system. The Recording Server does not display live video locally however video can be sent to an NVR, Control Center etc... to be viewed. The software runs as a service on the system and is accessible via an intuitive, browser-based interface similar to the one you would see locally. The lack of live local display and resource-intensive NVR software allows the Recording Server to achieve much higher frame rates due to system resource usage being significantly reduced.
