The Sentry RP Series of DVRs is a scalable video recording platform able to support both IP and analog cameras (hybrid). Delivering outstanding video quality via H.264 hardware compression, the RP Series is available in a range of models from 16 to 48 analog cameras and up to 32 IP cameras in one system. The intuitive user interface makes the system easy to setup and minimizes the time required to view live and export recorded video.

All RP Series DVRs come with a 3 year warranty which includes technical support and are available with free remote setup and configuration, with an optional 5 year warranty available. The included recovery DVD can be used to restore the software environment back to its original state. On 24, 32 and 48 channel RP Series DVRs, the DVR software and operating system are installed on a solid state drive providing faster system startup, read/write speeds and a higher degree of reliability and resistance to damage caused by vibration and/or temperature extremes. (The solid state drive upgrade is available for all models.)

Additional Features

IP Software Matrix

The RP IP Software Matrix is an IP-based network matrix solution allowing video from an RP series DVR to be displayed on up to 24 monitors over a network. The software matrix is made up of an RP series DVR and one or more PCs with the RP IP Matrix Software installed. The RP Series DVR controls which cameras are viewed from each client to a maximum of 4 monitors per client and/or 24 monitors total.

Motion Detection

Motion detection minimizes the amount of video recorded and the time required to search for video by recording only when motion is detected. Areas for "motion recognition" can be masked per camera image. Multiple mask areas per image are allowed.

Video Exporting

Video clips can be selected and exported to a folder, then burned to a CD/DVD along with the supplied player. The exported video on the CD/DVD can be played in any Windows™ PC right from the CD/DVD, without the need to install either the video or any software on the playing PC.

Live Display, Recording and Playback

Concurrent recording of live video and playback of recorded video is supported. Instant playback allows you to right-click on any camera window and start playback of recorded video from that camera.

PTZ Camera Support

Various models of PTZ cameras can be controlled through the software, both locally and remotely, using an RS-485 add-on adapter. Several control protocols are supported.

Differing Recording and Remote Transmission Quality and Frame Size

Remotely transmitted live video can have a different resolution and compression to recorded video, allowing maximum quality recordings (low compression, high resolution) and lower resolution, higher compression transmitted frames, for maximum remote video speed.

System Log

The System Log is a database of major operational changes. It allows searching by “Motion and Alarm Events”, “General System Events”, “User Login/Logout history”. Events can be double clicked to play the associated video.

Recording Speeds

By using H.264 hardware compression, recording speeds can always be a constant 30fps per camera. Speed can be individually camera configured to be slower than 30fps.

Video Compression

All Sentry RP Series systems use H.264 (MPEG4 Part 10) hardware compression/decompression, relieving the system CPU of these most intensive tasks. H.264 provides superior video compression and gives better quality recordings with smaller frame sizes than other compression methods. Recorded frame sizes can be as low as 0.5KB.

Multiple Display Options

Live video can be displayed in single camera or various multi-camera modes. Multi-camera display can be immediately switched to single camera by a mouse double-click on the desired camera image (and back again by mouse double-click). In addition, the display can be switched from GUI mode to Full Screen (and back again) by a single right button mouse click.

Audio Recording

One audio channel per video channel can be recorded with all Sentry RP Series security systems. Recorded audio can be played back in total synch with single camera video playback.

Remote System Monitoring/Accessing

Remote PCs can record locally with client software and host (server) recordings can be accessed remotely by the client software. Groups of cameras from different RP Series DVRs can be defined in the client software on one PC for watching separately or together.
